Install a programmable thermostat and set it 10 degrees cooler at night. You can save up to $100 per year!

Wear socks and a sweater while indoors. You’ll be able to lower your thermostat by a degree or two!

Put a humidifier in frequently used rooms. Having the right amount of moisture in a room, can make it feel warmer.

Close the vents and shut the doors to rooms that are not frequently used.

Keep your garage door shut.

Add another layer of insulation. If you have less than 12 inches of insulation, you could use a little more.

Unplug electronics when you are done using them. Even if you turn them “off,” they still use electricity while they are plugged in.

Turn off all the lights when you’re not in the room.

Turn off the water while you’re shaving, brushing your teeth, or washing the dishes.
